EQUITY PROGRAM
PERUMIN 37 places gender equity at the core of its agenda, recognizing it as a fundamental pillar for building an inclusive and sustainable mining industry. As part of the program, companies demonstrating exemplary practices in closing gender gaps will be formally recognized for their leadership and positive impact, both within the sector and in the communities where they operate.
The event will feature dynamic panels bringing together key stakeholders from across the mining ecosystem, including companies, academia, industry associations, and government representatives. In these spaces, global best practices, both regulatory and corporate, that have proven effective in significantly accelerating the closing of the gender gap in the sector will be discussed. The exchange of successful experiences and innovative strategies that can be adapted to the local context will also be encouraged.
As part of this agenda, the STEM Dinner will be held in the lead-up to PERUMIN. This initiative is aimed at raising funds to support science workshops for girls in Arequipa, with the goal of sparking early interest in science and technology and promoting their future development in these fields.Karina Zevallos - Chair of the Equity Program
Not only is gender equity a social goal, it is also a smart strategy for development. It fosters safer work environments, drives innovation, and strengthens the sector’s sustainability. Through these initiatives, we aim to recognize, inspire, and scale up best practices across the entire mining industry value chain.
