PERUMIN Hub is the main open innovation program in the country that seeks solutions to the major challenges facing the mining sector through collaborative innovation. This program was born from the alliance between the IIMP and the Hub, institutions committed to charting a path that positions mining as a sector that innovates in the community, and that guides innovators by facilitating their growth, consolidation, and commercial takeoff in the mining sector.

For the third year, mining companies identify, characterize, and make visible their challenges. This information allows innovators to approach the mining sector with solid and mature proposals that clearly respond to the real challenges of the sector.

What is Scaling Innovations?

Scaling Innovations is the work line of PERUMIN Hub that seeks mature solutions to the major challenges of the mining sector. It is aimed at innovations that have a prototype to be validated for the first time in the field and successful innovations that have just been validated with favorable results for the first time in a mining company. It is directed at companies, academia, and national and international associations.

Scaling Innovations is the first work line of PERUMIN Hub and its main objective is to promote the approach, at different stages of the program, between the mining company and the innovator, increasing the possibilities of connection and realization of projects.

What is Unlocking Young Potential?

Unlocking Young Potential is the new work line of PERUMIN Hub that seeks to promote the development of ideas and creativity in future professionals from universities and technical institutes nationwide who are interested in the mining sector. It is aimed at students in the last cycles of professional and technical careers.

With this first edition, the goal is to actively involve young people in the Innovators Community of PERUMIN Hub, through an immersive program in innovation that develops capacities to generate disruptive multidisciplinary ideas in response to the main challenges of the mining sector.

Unlocking Young Potential provides PERUMIN Hub with the first step towards a comprehensive innovation maturity route. It also facilitates the approach of the mining sector to talent and creativity in a decentralized way.

The Organizers

The Organizers The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) has based its success and prestige on the technical contribution delivered over almost eight decades since its foundation. Since then, the IIMP has set out to be the leading institution, bringing together the best professionals in the field to address the great challenges faced by the mining industry in a constantly changing environment. For the third year, it calls on the Mining Innovation Hub of Peru (Hub) to lead the innovation program, which will focus on collaboration and active participation of mining companies

The Hub is an initiative that has emerged from the mining companies themselves, in their search for a mechanism that facilitates innovation, promotes learning and collaborative work, as well as co-creation to address common challenges in the sector.
