The president of PERUMIN 37 also invited school students to participate in the National School Mining Award.

Jimena Sologuren, president of PERUMIN 37, inaugurated the latest edition of Heading to PERUMIN entitled “Opportunities for the Comprehensive Development of Cajamarca.” In her speech, she emphasized that the objective of the event is to identify the challenges and advantages of this important mining region and propose ways to advance towards development.

“We are aware of Cajamarca's needs. We also know that many of the effects of the pandemic have not yet been overcome. Therefore, we want to analyze how we can create opportunities through investment projects that will increase economic activity, generate employment, and promote the overall well-being of all citizens,” she stated.

She also noted that through these conferences, the Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 37 and the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers aim to disseminate knowledge about formal and responsible mining, promote constructive dialogue and address key issues to achieve prosperity in our country's regions.

"In this way, in preparation for PERUMIN 37, we are creating spaces like this: giving ourselves the opportunity to listen and propose solutions to the various problems that affect the country," she stressed.

On another note, Sologuren invited students from public and private schools in Cajamarca to participate in the National School Mining Award contest, whose call for entries can be found on PERUMIN's social media.

“We definitely wanted to present the contest in Cajamarca, a region with a great mining tradition and where we have had a good participation of participants in previous editions of the award, with very high performances. Registration is now open, so we hope to have the participation of all students from all regions of the country,” she affirmed.
