Aldo Valencia acknowledged the mining sector's contribution to education in provinces and highlighted contests such as the National School Mining Award.

The recent Jueves Minero was the stage for the launch of a new edition of the National School Mining Award, as part of the preliminary activities of PERUMIN 37. The event featured Aldo Valencia, Director of Sustainability and Scale at “Enseña Perú”, an organization who highlighted the contribution of the mining industry to the promotion of education in the country.

“I have witnessed the mining sector's commitment to education in the rural areas it directly impacts. In fact, 70% of the support for our program comes from Peruvian private companies, and more than 60% of them are mining companies," he said at the event organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP).

He also praised the initiative, emphasizing that it promotes the knowledge of formal and responsible mining among students across the country, while also encouraging research and the development of artistic skills.

“When I see contests like this that really give students a voice, I say yes, it is indeed possible to change the country from now on with the students’ voice. Events like this are proof that if we unite, we can undoubtedly move forward much faster and with the urgency that is needed," he said.

In this regard, the executive committed to promoting the contest in the 14 regions where his organization operates, among the 450 contestants, and in the 250 schools with which they work.
