These are professionals from 20 regions of the country who today lead social initiatives in the public and private sectors. They also belong to careers in mining engineering, geology, metallurgy, environmental engineering, biology, economics, administration, communications, law, and health, among others.
After receiving 2,187 applications from 23 regions of Peru, including all those in which mining activity is carried out, the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 37 announced the 37 winners of the PERUMIN
Scholarship.
This prize will cover 100% of the costs of participation in PERUMIN 37, which will take place from September 22 to 26 in Arequipa, including access to the rooms of the Mining Convention, airfare, lodging, food, and transfers. The winners are young professionals who lead social initiatives in the public and private sectors. They have a profile of innovation and commitment
to responsible mining.
Additionally, they are affiliated with national and private universities in 20 regions of the country. Similarly, the 37 winners will participate in a training program from today until the completion of PERUMIN 37, comprising mentoring sessions and workshops, aimed at enhancing their leadership profile. They will also become spokespersons and new references for the mining sector from a decentralized and multidisciplinary perspective.
It should be noted that the PERUMIN Scholarship Committee is led by Engineer Homar Lozano, in collaboration with Felipe Valencia-Dongo, Piero Saravia, Gabriela García and Militza Arribasplata. This initiative is part of the PERUMIN 37 Youth Program, in alliance with Enseña Perú, and its mission is to bring new generations closer to mining, allowing greater knowledge about this industry and promoting the exchange of professional experiences, as part of the training process of young Peruvians.
