Lima, JANUARY 16 2025 Young professionals from different fields will have the opportunity to apply for a PERUMIN Scholarship and participate in the Mining Convention

The application deadline for the PERUMIN Scholarship has been extended until February 02. Applications must be submitted to www.perumin.com.

PERUMIN, the leading mining convention in Latin America and the world, continues setting milestones in its commitment to involving different sectors of society, especially young people, in its dialogue and debate on the development of sustainable mining and its impact on Peru. In line with this, the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the PERUMIN 37 Organizing Committee announce the launch of the PERUMIN Scholarship, an initiative aimed at young Peruvian professionals with a vocation for working towards Peru's prosperity.

The PERUMIN Scholarship, which began its call for applications on Monday, January 13, will cover 100% of the costs of attending in PERUMIN 37, which will take place from September 22 to 26, 2025, in Arequipa. This includes access to the Mining Convention halls, airfare, accommodation, meals, and transportation. It is aimed at young professionals with a strong profile in leadership, social entrepreneurship, innovation, and commitment to responsible mining.

According to Jimena Sologuren, president of PERUMIN 37, 37 scholarships will be awarded to professionals who will be evaluated through a selection process in which they must demonstrate their skills and highlight sustainability initiatives they have promoted in their respective fields of work.

"Through PERUMIN 37, we advocate the motto ‘Together for more opportunities and well-being for all,’ and young people are precisely a fundamental part of that mechanism that we Peruvians need to move forward. At the Mining Convention, they will have access to studies and analyses on the national and global economic context, learn about development perspectives from both the public and private sectors, and discover work initiatives to address the social gaps that persist in Peru," Sologuren explained.

The application deadline for the PERUMIN Scholarship has been extended until February 2. Submissions can be made through the portal www.perumin.com. Peruvian professionals aged 23 to 35 from different parts of Peru and the world, with a minimum of two years of professional experience (post-graduation), are eligible to apply. The list of selected participants will be announced in April 2025. To apply, click the following link: https://bit.ly/4hfp29o.

"We are convinced that young people are an essential part of the mechanism that will enable us to solidify a better future for Peru. Through the PERUMIN Scholarship, we aim to provide them with tools, contacts, and experiences that empower them to lead change in their respective areas of action," said Darío Zegarra, president of the IIMP.

Thus, the IIMP reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive development of Peruvian mining, promoting spaces for learning, innovation, and dialogue. The PERUMIN Scholarship is not only an opportunity for young professionals to expand their horizons but also a call to strengthen the mining value chain by integrating new talents who will lead the challenges of the future.
