The event features two conference rooms led by industry experts covering topics such as ESG criteria. Tomorrow, the PERUMIN Scholarship will be launched.
Today, for the first time, the PERUMIN Jóvenes event took place, organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the PERUMIN 37 Organizing Committee.
This event, led by Homar Lozano, who is also a director at IIMP, highlighted the opportunities the mining industry offers to young professionals, university students, and technical students to improve their education and contribute to the sector’s sustainability. More than 400 young people from the regions of Áncash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, Piura, and Puno participated.
“We are organizing the first edition of PERUMIN Jóvenes to highlight the leadership and actions of the new generation in the mining industry. We want to raise collective awareness among young people about the importance of the mining sector and emphasize the professional opportunities it offers,” said Lozano.
The event features two conference rooms with sessions led by industry experts on topics such as ESG (environmental, governance, and sustainability) criteria, innovation and technology, social management, and territorial development.
The program will continue tomorrow, October 30. Among the highlights, there will be a raffle for 10 free passes to PERUMIN 37, the leading mining convention in Latin America and the world, scheduled for September 22-26, 2025.
The new PERUMIN Scholarship will also be presented, which will allow senior students and recent graduates to attend the 2025 mining convention free of charge and connect with top industry leaders.
It is worth noting that PERUMIN Jóvenes will also host the awards ceremony for the 2024 winners of the PERUMIN Inspira and PERUMIN Hub programs, which promote social entrepreneurship in high Andean areas and innovation under the “Young People Who Bring About Transformation” line.
