The mining industry's main innovation program under its “Youth that Transform” line of work continues to tour the country's higher education institutions.
The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) informed that more than 2,300 students are participating in the national tour being carried out within the framework of PERUMIN Hub, the main innovation program for the mining industry.
Under its line of work called “Young people who transform”, within the framework of PERUMIN Youth to be held in 2026, PERUMIN Hub continues to tour the country so that more young students from universities and technical institutes get involved and contribute with various solutions for the development of mining.
The contest, born from the alliance between the IIMP and the Mining Innovation Hub of Peru, seeks to promote the development of ideas and creativity in future professionals who are interested in the mining sector. It is aimed at final year students and recent graduates of professional and technical careers.
Touring Peru
The national tour takes place in educational institutions through workshops developed in conjunction with the Mining Innovation Hub of Peru team. In addition, each visit includes the participation of an exhibitor representing a mining company.
To date, since May 15, when the PERUMIN Hub National Tour: “Youth that Transform” began, 21 universities and institutes have participated nationwide, in 10 regions of the country: Lima, Moquegua, Tacna, Apurímac, Cajamarca, Cusco, La Libertad, Huancavelica, Huancayo, and Ayacucho.
The best candidates will have access to an immersive innovation program that will allow them to develop their innovative idea, as well as concept validation. The deadline to submit your proposal is July 25, 2025.
