Lima, APRIL 21 2025 PERUMIN Hub Launches “Matchmaking”: Networking Platforms for Mining Companies and Innovators from Around the World

Through collaborative work, virtual sessions, and a feedback platform, these initiatives aim to strengthen solution proposals before the competition.

PERUMIN Hub, the leading open innovation program in the mining sector, is now in its fourth edition. Under its "Innovations That Take Off" line of work, PERUMIN Hub is calling on national and international innovators with solutions seeking first-time validation or that have recently been validated by a mining company to participate in its two "Matchmaking" spaces.

PERUMIN Hub is an initiative of the Peruvian Mining Innovation Hub in partnership with the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP). It is being developed as part of the PERUMIN 37 Mining Convention, which will take place in Arequipa from September 22 to 26, 2025.

These activities aim to promote collaboration among innovators, as well as between innovators and mining companies, to enhance the solutions that will be presented in the competition.

Matchmaking 1 consists of virtual sessions where innovators can connect with one another to complement each other's capabilities, share knowledge, and overcome sector-specific barriers. This edition includes six virtual sessions in Spanish and English, scheduled between April 14 and 30, at times that are accessible to participants from different regions. Registration is available at the following link: https://forms.gle/EUo58Lg1VtkY9PD7A

Matchmaking 2, in turn, is a platform that will be available from April 7 to May 5. Through this platform, innovators can submit preliminary profiles of their proposals and receive feedback from professionals at mining companies participating in PERUMIN Hub. This will allow them to improve and fine-tune their proposals before the competition and even schedule one-on-one meetings with interested companies. Access to the platform is available at: https://peruminhub.vform.pe/

“The matchmaking stage is key to facilitating strategic connections between startups and established companies, between academia and industry, and between international innovators and local suppliers. It also allows innovators to quickly showcase their work, increasing their visibility among mining companies and ensuring a better fit between solutions and needs,” emphasizes Rafael Estrada, president of the PERUMIN Hub Committee.

The challenges in this edition focus on three key areas for the future of mining: Circular and Regenerative Mining, Smart Mining, and New Horizons in Mining. Participation in Matchmaking is not only free but can also be a differentiating factor in the evaluation of proposals during the competition.
