Lima, JUNE 30 2025 PERUMIN 37 Will Have the Participation of More Than 400 Young Volunteers from Various Career

The president of the Student Leaders Program, Diana Rake, urged organizations to participate in this initiative that promotes the leadership and approach of these young leaders to the mining industry.

Lima, June 30, 2025. PERUMIN 37 expects the participation of more than 400 young volunteers from 12 regions of the country, who will be in charge of providing guidance to visitors to the fair and providing support to the participating companies. This was pointed out by the president of the Student Leaders Program, Diana Rake, who highlighted the opportunity for young people to connect with companies in the mining industry and enhance their communication and relationship skills.

Volunteers are students who have been selected by their own universities and educational institutions. 90% of them belong to careers related to the mining sector, while 10% come from other disciplines, which will enrich the exchange of experiences during the event.

The Student Leaders Program seeks to strengthen the training of young people as future leaders of mining in Peru. "Participating in PERUMIN 37 will allow them to learn first-hand about the challenges and opportunities of the mining industry, enhancing their academic and professional growth," said Rake.

Another objective of the program is for the selected students to be able to interact with the companies and organizations that participate in the Mining Technology Exhibition (EXTEMIN), as well as with the attending public.

Volunteers will be trained

Rake welcomed the fact that 50% of the selected students are women willing to take on the challenge. In addition, he explained that the young people have previous experience in student leadership and volunteer programs, as well as English language proficiency, key to relating to each other during the event.

As part of their preparation, volunteers will receive a series of trainings in soft skills, customer service, and first aid, thanks to the support of the CETEMIN Institute, a strategic ally of the Student Leaders Program.
