NEWS, INTERVIEWS AND EVERYTHING RELATED TO PERUMIN IN THE MEDIA
  • A total of 90 technical papers will be presented on interactive totems.
  • In this edition, 14% of the total number of participants are women.

 

The Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 36 has announced the final selection of 210 technical papers to be presented at the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability (TIS) Forum. Of these, 120 will be presented in person and will compete for the National Mining Award, while 90 will be displayed on digital totems.

The 120 technical papers to be presented in person compete in the following categories: Research and Technology (32), Mining Operations (30), Environmental Management (18), Social Management (12), Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy (11), Geology and Explorations (6), Legal and Taxation (7), and Mineral Economics (4).

“I should mention that the TIS Forum of the PERUMIN Mining Convention is aimed at people related to the mining activity and who want to learn about best practices, innovative projects, and value-generating proposals within the framework of national and international mining operations,” highlighted Juan Carlos Ortiz, President of the TIS Forum.

In addition, another 90 technical papers have been selected to be displayed on interactive digital totems. These papers will participate in the following categories: Research and Technology (27), Mining Operations (25), Environmental Management (16), Social Management (9), Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy (8), and Geology and Explorations (5).

The papers will be presented on September 26, 27 and 28, following their corresponding presentation modality: in-person presentations in four auditoriums that can accommodate 100 and 200 people; or interactive presentations using ten digital totems accessible to the general public.

“As a platform for disseminating best practices and new value propositions, the TIS Forum will feature speakers who will share their valuable knowledge in order to enhance the potential applications of these proposals, contributing to the ongoing improvement of Peruvian mining operations,” said Juan Carlos Ortiz.

Finally, the Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 36 announced that, in terms of gender distribution, 86% of the total participants in the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum are men, while 14% are women. In terms of origin, 88% are Peruvian, and 12% are foreigners from nine countries.

National Mining Award and Other Recognitions

Epiroc is the official sponsor of the PERUMIN 36 National Mining Award. The overall winner of the TIS Forum will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to  Epiroc’s headquarters in Sweden effective from January 1, 2024 (including airfare, hotel reservations and food expenses).

Finally, the authors of the technical papers presented at the TIS Forum will receive a special 50% discount on registration for PERUMIN 36. The winning papers in each category will be published in the Mining Magazine, the official publication of the IIMP. Furthermore, these papers will be promoted through the social networks of the mining convention.
