One month before the start of PERUMIN 36, the general manager of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), Carlos Diez Canseco, met with Fredy Zegarra Black and Christian Arce Machaca, mayors of the districts of José Luis Bustamante and Jacobo Hunter respectively, in order to coordinate actions and finalize details to ensure the success of the mining convention.
The Cerro Juli Convention Center, the official venue for PERUMIN 36, is situated within the districts of José Luis Bustamante and Jacobo Hunter in Arequipa. This venue is set to host over 65,000 visitors from around the world between September 25 and 29 this year.
During the protocolary meetings, the district authorities expressed great anticipation for the upcoming international mining event and a willingness to contribute to it through infrastructure improvements whenever possible to provide the best possible experience for visitors.
Fredy Zegarra Black, mayor of Bustamante Rivero, also shared that they are currently working on the roads leading to the Cerro Julio Convention Center to improve traffic flow and facilitate transportation for thousands of attendees.
For his part, the mayor of Jacobo Hunter, Christian Arce Machaca, expressed his desire to accommodate visitors in the best possible way with the kindness that characterizes the people from Arequipa. He also expressed great optimism regarding this great event, which will contribute to the economic recovery of Arequipa.
Moreover, the general manager of the IIMP met with colonel Raúl Acosta, Chief of Public Order and Security for the IX Police Macroregion of Arequipa. Colonel Acosta is responsible for planning the strategies to ensure the safety of attendees at this new edition of the PERUMIN 36 Mining Convention.
