In its project portfolio in the region, Glencore, a world-class mining company, has planned to integrate Coroccohuayco (Cusco) into its comprehensive production optimization project for Compañía Minera Antapaccay, extending its operating life to 25 years.
“We want to create synergies. Given the regionalization we are experiencing, we want to be able to share best practices among our mining and project sites. We are now working on managing our suppliers, and we want them to add value, to be committed and to work with us to meet all our needs. We want to streamline our processes from a regional and global perspective," said Deyanira Quevedo, Regional Category Manager at Minera Glencore.
Currently, Glencore is undergoing a transformation to regionalize its work areas with a cross-cutting approach to achieve a higher and more competitive standard in the regions. Their goals include the development and implementation of sustainable and innovative sourcing strategies to ensure the continuity of their operations through cost control and reduction.
Our mission is to responsibly source all the products that make our daily lives easier. We work with about 100 values related to safety, responsibility, simplicity, integrity, openness and entrepreneurship. Today, we work to avoid operational disruptions and we have a motto: either we all win, or we all lose," added Quevedo during her participation in the Logistics Meeting at PERUMIN 36.
For its operations in Peru and Chile, the company is seeking suppliers for plant maintenance and smelting, engineering and construction, and component repair that are committed to sustainability, circular economy, reducing and controlling carbon emissions, and inclusion and diversity.
