The PERUMIN 36 Organizing Committee and the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) will develop this April 25 and 26 the Road to PERUMIN "Challenges of Social Conflict Management " event. It consists of two sessions that will be developed in a virtual format and will be of free access to the general public, through the official platforms of PERUMIN Mining Convention and the IIMP.

In this sense, the president of Rumbo a PERUMIN (Road to PERUMIN), Domingo Drago, explained that the objective of this edition is to analyze the challenges of social conflict, to present alternative solutions and to learn about the sector's work proposals.

"According to the latest report on social conflicts from the Ombudsman's Office, of the 142 active and latent socio-environmental conflicts, 95 correspond to mining activity. It is therefore necessary to address this issue, since, if no alternatives are proposed for its solution, it will continue to affect the country in general," he added.

"The issue merits addressing all the fronts in which social conflict has a bearing. We have a robust program and representatives who will be able to offer, from their experience and perspective, alternatives for a correct approach to this problem", commented the president of PERUMIN 36, Miguel Cardozo.

There will also be panel discussions, with the participation of representatives of important consulting firms such as Macroconsult.
