Lima, APRIL 10 2023 PERUMIN Hub Is Inviting Innovators to Participate in “Matchmaking 2” to Connect with Mining Companies

  • The connection platform seeks for innovators to get feedback on their proposals from professionals of up to 23 mining companies. This platform will be available from April 5 to 24.

PERUMIN Hub, the main open innovation program in the mining sector, and its line of work “Innovations that Take Off” seek to promote collaboration among innovators, and between innovators and mining companies. To do so, it has two connection tools known as “Matchmaking.”

Matchmaking 1 was a series of virtual sessions where innovators could connect with one another in order to complement their proposal preparation strengths with the aim of reducing the barriers to breaking into the mining sector. This event took place from March 14 to 30.

Matchmaking 2 has just begun. It gives innovators the opportunity to submit a preliminary profile of their proposals in order to get feedback from professionals of up to 23 mining companies participating in PERUMIN Hub. In this way, they will be able to make adjustments to their solution proposals and prepare for the stage of the contest that starts in May. Furthermore, depending on the interest the solution generates, innovators may be able to meet one on one with the interested mining company.

The platform to access Matchmaking 2 is free and will be available from April 5 to 24. To visit the platform, click on this link: https://peruminhub.vform.pe/

It is worth noting that this program is possible thanks to the alliance between the Peruvian Mining Innovation Hub and the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers, within the framework of the PERUMIN Mining Convention.

“The matchmaking stage is important because it enables startups to connect with more commercially sound companies in Peru and facilitates technological transfer from academia to the industry. It also facilitates the connection between international innovators and Peruvian suppliers who know the local market, thus aiding innovations to enter the Peruvian mining sector. Finally, it showcases innovators before teams from mining companies in a dynamic and simple way, helping their coming together with a view to consolidating innovative projects and enabling innovators to get firsthand feedback from their potential client,” underscores Pamela Antonioli, general manager of the Hub.

Additionally, at this stage of the contest, the proposals that create the greatest expectation among the internal teams from the mining companies participating in the matchmaking will be positively valued in the evaluation process.

It is worth mentioning that the challenges edition seeks to address correspond to three main areas related to the mining industry, namely the Environment and Sustainability, Mining 4.0, and Shared Value.
