During his participation in PERUMIN 36, Piero Saravia, digital transformation manager at Minsur, highlighted the benefits and opportunities of the mobile application Crecemos Juntos, whose purpose is the automation and systematization of local businesses that provide food, lodging, and laundry services.
According to him, the mining company developed the platform in response to the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, such as limited work opportunities with contractors, verbal and short-notice order requests, order cancellations without prior notice, and a lack of liquidity due to delayed payments.
After a series of interviews with the owners of various businesses located around the mining operations, information was gathered, and it was concluded that what they needed the most was better control over payments, advance notice of consumption records, and access to training to improve their service.
For these reasons, the conceptualization, design, and implementation of the app were initiated, equipped with useful features to manage commercial agreements, place orders digitally, automatically generate evaluations and promptly handle complaints and claims.
For example, one of the app's users is Felipa Quispe, a 50-year-old resident of Antauta. Despite not having finished high school and having suffered the death of her husband during the pandemic, she found in this technological tool an opportunity to better manage her housing and support her two grandchildren.
“To date, with the Crecemos Juntos mobile platform, we have reduced the non-payment ratio to 3.85%, benefiting over 100 local entrepreneurs and generating a valuation of S/7 million. We hope that this innovative solution will contribute to the productivity and sustainability of more community businesses," said Piero Saravia.
Finally, Saravia stressed that the mining company ensures the sustainability of the app by strengthening capacities to improve local offerings, providing training in business management using the digital platform, and constantly monitoring compliance with quality standards.
The Peruvian mining company Minsur, controlled by the local holding Breca Group, is engaged in the exploration and extraction of mineral deposits. It operates the San Rafael tin mine in the department of Puno and the Pucamarca gold mine in the Palca district, as well as a smelting and refining plant in Pisco.
