For the first time, PERUMIN's organizers granted higher education institutions the benefit of free access to the transmissions of the Mining Summit, the main space for dialogue of the event, to contribute to the professional training of students in careers related to the mining industry. The Mining Summit had the participation of the main global CEOs and national CEOs of the largest mining companies.
Universities and technical institutes of the country that teach Mining Engineering, Geology, and Metallurgy were invited to be part of the transmissions. The results obtained were quite encouraging since transmissions were made in 19 universities and 3 institutes nationwide, reaching more than 5,000 connected students from September 25 to 29, when the event took place.
Among the universities that participated in the broadcasts were the Universidad Católica de Santa María (UCSM), Universidad Privada del Norte (UPN), Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). Also representing the institutes, SENATI and TECSUP. The organizers of the next edition of PERUMIN are evaluating the possibility of continuing to offer this benefit to universities and institutes.
