Rumbo a PERUMIN opens today with " Territorial Development: A Challenge to Closing Social Gaps ", the first session of the year that is part of the series of conferences that precedes PERUMIN 36 and aims to promote dialogue and discussion around the development of mining in Peru.
This online event will be inaugurated by Domingo Drago, president of Rumbo a PERUMIN, and will take place from February 7 to 9. It will focus on the analysis of territorial development to close social gaps, driven by mining.
The first day will include three distinguished speakers: Carolina Trivelli, senior researcher at the Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP), who will present the "Bases for Territorial Development"; Carla Toledo, Operations Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), who will present the "Moquegua Case"; and Diana Mendez, executive director for Latin America and the Caribbean (INSUCO), who will present the "Shared Vision for the Development of Cajamarca".
There will also be a panel of leading professionals, which will allow for a deeper dialogue and perspectives to analyze the subject in question. The panel will be composed of Carlos Basombrío, former Minister of Internal Affairs; Gilia Gutiérrez, Regional Governor of Moquegua; and Darío Zegarra, Country Manager of Newmont in Peru.
The online event will start at 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted through the institutional social networks of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers and PERUMIN Mining Convention.
