Two hundred and fifty teachers and principals from the districts of Pataz and Pias, province of Pataz, La Libertad, completed the training organized by Asociación Pataz in alliance with UGEL Pataz and the District Municipality of Pataz. The training was organized by Asociación Pataz with funds from Minera Poderosa, as part of its Social Responsibility policy.
This training seeks to strengthen pedagogical competencies that will help their performance in the classroom. The trained teachers belong to kindergarten, elementary and high school levels of 29 educational institutions in both districts.
The topics covered in the training included: Tutoring and Educational Guidance (TOE), digital tools and educational software, curriculum planning and evaluation processes, and 5S methodology (in charge of the Minera Poderosa team).
The Asociación Pataz team shared information about the innovation system of the district of Pataz, a system aligned with the strategy of the Missions of the Centro de Innovación Social Rurana of Asociación Pataz. A system where transformative innovation in education focuses on an accessible and sustainable model and empowers the educational community for quality improvement.
Joint effort
Nilton Díaz, head of Community Relations at Minera Poderosa, emphasized that they are committed to improving the quality of education and this training strengthens the pedagogical performance of teachers.
Segundo Armas, district mayor of Pataz, welcomed the joint effort to carry out the teacher training and ratified his administration's commitment to education.
Jhon Caballero, head of Pedagogical Management of the UGEL Pataz, saluted the efforts of the participating teachers to make the training a space for human development that seeks to improve the quality of education.
Gilder Quiñones, head of Local Projects at Asociación Pataz, emphasized that the training strengthens teachers' skills in the different lines of intervention within their curriculum plan. He also highlighted that Asociación Pataz has established a social innovation system focused on Missions that seeks to close gaps in the district of Pataz.
Mission 2: Educational innovation and social mobility
By 2030, educational entities in the district of Pataz will have a high level of educational quality in terms of relevance, access, infrastructure and quality of teachers. This will allow 70% of children to achieve continuity to higher education and decent employment.
