LIMA, AUGUST 27 2021 The central event of Heading to PERUMIN will take place in September

From September 20 to 24, the Central event of Heading to PERUMIN - Bicentennial Edition will take place, with the slogan "Competitive and sustainable proposals for the development of Peru."

According to the president of Heading to PERUMIN, Miguel Cardozo, it will be a space where our mining industry will present its proposals to promote its development and enhance its impact on the welfare of the population.

Thus, he stressed that during the days of the event, issues that set the national agenda will be analyzed, such as long-term mining policy, taxation, social impact of new mining projects, competitiveness, sustainability and value chain, among others.

"Today more than ever, our country, which is facing the effects of the pandemic, needs concrete and viable proposals that allow it to return to the path of growth. In addition, we are sure that we all want a country where there is more work, more well-being, more access to basic services, better infrastructure for education and health, etc.; and mining is an important tool to achieve it", said Miguel Cardozo.

Presence of authorities and experts from the global mining industry 

The event, organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Executive Committee of PERUMIN 35, will be virtual and freely accessible.

Currently, the organizers are hoping that this will be the first public meeting between representatives of the mining industry and authorities of the Peruvian State.

"We trust that the current Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Pedro Francke, and the Executive Secretary of the National Agreement, Max Hernández, will join us," said Miguel Cardozo.

Similarly, he pointed out that representatives of mining companies such as AngloAmerican, BHP, Freeport, MMG, Newmont, etc. will also participate.

Also present will be representatives of international organizations such as the Mining Council of Australia, Mining Association of Canada, International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), CEPLAN, International Financial Cooperation (IFC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), as well as authorities and representatives from Australia, partner country of PERUMIN 35, the mining convention taking place in 2022 in the city of Arequipa.

In addition to the conferences, the attending public will also be able to visit a highly interactive virtual fair, where public and private mining organizations will present technical exhibitions and news on their sustainable development activities.
