The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers is promoting the program called “Protagonistas de la Onza de Oro” (Protagonists of the Ounce of Gold), an initiative that seeks to disseminate the importance of good practices in mining and the opportunities this industry provides for the development of the country.

To compete in this program, those interested will have to prepare a video essay (2 minutes max), taking as a source of information Mining Thursdays or the traditional binomials of the relationship between mining and agriculture, water, sustainability, or other aspects linked to it.

Each week, the best video will be selected to receive the Onza de Plata, consisting of a prize equivalent to its monetary value.

At the end of the month, the winners will be evaluated to select the best of them all, and those chosen will compete for the top prize of Protagonistas de la Onza de Oro, through which they will receive a reward equivalent to the monetary value of this metal.

On this occasion, the winners for the months of June, July, and August will receive a ticket to the Technological and Mining Exhibition Fair (EXTEMIN), which will bring together national and international companies from more than 70 business areas related to the mining sector.

The fair is part of PERUMIN and will accommodate more than 1,200 stands of suppliers of technological products and services for mining with the purpose of generating an important commercial exchange and stimulating investments.
