LIMA, SEPTEMBER 9 2021 Quellaveco: Mark Cutifani, CEO of Anglo American, will participate in Heading to PERUMIN 

Mark Cutifani, CEO of Anglo American, the company that owns the Quellaveco mining project, will participate as a main speaker in Heading to PERUMIN - Bicentennial Edition, a space for open and decentralized debate organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), which will be held will be held online from September 20 to 24.

The senior executive will be part of the "Competitive fiscal policy" block scheduled for September 22, which will broaden the outlook on this issue, previously addressed by other prominent representatives of the public and private sectors, academia and international organizations.

Mining Project

Quellaveco is one of the five largest copper deposits in the world. It is located in Moquegua, in southern Peru, and has been developed as a project by Anglo American, a global and diversified mining company, in partnership with the Mitsubishi Corporation. It is currently in the construction stage and the first copper production is expected in 2022. It is currently the largest mining investment in Peru.

About Heading to PERUMIN 

Heading to PERUMIN is an initiative of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Executive Committee of PERUMIN 35. It is the prelude to the 35th edition of the traditional Mining Convention, which will take place in 2022.

The event includes presentations and discussion panels on the issues that set the national agenda, such as long-term mining policy, taxation, development of new mining projects and their impact on the regions, sustainability and the value chain in mining, among others.
