This was announced by Carlos Diez Canseco, general manager of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), during his visit to the Cerro Juli venue, located between these two Arequipa districts which will be the hosts to the thousands of visitors who will attend the mining conclave.

“We have cordially extended the invitation to the mayors of both districts to participate with a space in the EXTEMIN fair and to show their work, tourist attractions, and other activities they have been carrying out to the thousands of visitors who will attend,” he said.

Diez Canseco pointed out that it is very important for local, regional, and national authorities to attend this event, where students, professionals, and investors from across the globe will convene.

He also remarked that this edition of PERUMIN will adhere to all the necessary safety protocols to guarantee the health and care of all the participants. “We are going to comply with the current regulations for big events: vaccines, negative COVID-19 tests, room capacity limits, ventilation, disinfection, and social distancing,” he said.

The IIMP’s representative also mentioned that PERUMIN 35 will be a zero-carbon footprint event, with lectures translated into Quechua. There will also be a virtual mine. As for the topics to be addressed, there will be analyses on gender and diversity issues, as well as an agenda on energy-related matters.

PERUMIN’s 35th edition will have the slogan “Building together a greater Peru”, under which it seeks to promote our country’s opportunities for socio-economic development, address the challenges facing the mining sector, and broaden new scientific and technical knowledge.
