Lima, JULY 1 2022 Companies and workers from Arequipa take part in the renovation works at the site of PERUMIN 35

This week, Carlos Diez Canseco, general manager of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers, visited the facilities of the new edition of PERUMIN, at the Cerro Juli Convention Center, in Arequipa, where he verified the progress of the construction work and highlighted the special participation of local workers.

He pointed out that the works to improve PERUMIN 35 venue have been entrusted mainly to people and companies from Arequipa, who are working tirelessly under a strict schedule and in highly safe conditions so that participants can enjoy a warm and comfortable stay.

“Unlike in other editions, this time the construction work is being done entirely by workers and suppliers from Arequipa, who are highly efficient and who previously had to compete with companies form across the country to get the job,” explained the IIMP’s representative.

Some of the companies from Arequipa who have been working at the Cerro Juli site are RMC Vargas Contratistas Generales, BBJ Construction and Consulting, and DYG Ingenieros Contratistas Generales, among others, which are creating employment and galvanizing the economy of the region.

Furthermore, the IIMP’s manager added that materials made in Arequipa, like concrete, pavers, and other materials supplied by companies such as Yura, a company specialized in producing and commercializing high quality cement, and a supplier to the Peruvian mining sector, are being used in the works.

EXTEMIN underway

He also highlighted that, with the beginning of PERUMIN, an event organized by the IIMP, less than 90 days away, works continue at the site of the technological fair EXTEMIN, which will bring together hundreds of national and international companies from more than 70 commercial areas related to mining.

This exhibition fair will accommodate more than 1,200 stands organized in 5 pavilions, where suppliers of technological products and services for the mining industry will engage in an important commercial exchange and will stimulate investments to consolidate their portfolio.

 Official launch

It is worth noting that PERUMIN 35, one of the most important mining events in the world, will be officially launched on July 6 in Arequipa, in an event that will be attended by the members of the organizing committee, presided by Claudia Cooper, and personalities from this important mining region.

PERUMIN 35 will go back to its face-to-face format from September 26 to 30, 2022, at the Cerro Juli Convention Center.
