During her participation in Peru Day within the framework of PDAC 2025 Convention, Jimena Sologuren, director of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and president of PERUMIN 37, highlighted Peru’s potential as a competitive and attractive destination for global mining investment.
In front of an audience formed by investors, business owners, and representatives of the Peruvian government, Sologuren stated that mining is a fundamental pillar for the development of the country, and that the conjoined work between the State and the private sector is key to overcome the challenges and promote the growth of this industry.
“Our country needs us to move forward together for more opportunities and well-being for all. This is precisely the motto of PERUMIN 37,” said Sologuren, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and collaboration to consolidate a sustainable mining industry that promotes social development.
The president of PERUMIN 37 also highlighted the international call of the foremost Mining Convention in Latin America, underlining its power to gather authorities, businesspeople, civil society, and organizations, makes it a relevant platform for the creation of strategic alliances in the sector.
Along this line, Sologuren pointed out the participation of Germany as the allied country in PERUMIN 37. German experts will share their experience in technological innovation and productive development, enriching the debate over the future of mining.
Lastly, Sologuren restated the importance of strengthening international bonds through events such as PDAC and PERUMIN, highlighting that these platforms allow the creation of agreements and the sharing of experiences that contribute to the sustainable development of the mining industry worldwide.
