Given the high demand, the organizers have extended the deadline to allow students from across the country to participate.

Lima, October 03, 2024. The National School Mining Award extends the deadline for entries until Friday, October 25. This is the last chance for students from schools across the country to register and compete for great prizes.

The competition consists of four categories in which students must create specific artistic works that highlight the importance of mining in their localities and regions, as well as its contribution to the development and future of the country.

The Story category is for students in grades 1-3 of elementary school; the Theatre category is for students in grades 4-6 of elementary school; the Model category is for students in grades 1-3 of high school; and the Social and Environmental Responsibility in Action category is for students in grades 4-5 of high school. It should be noted that the works can be created in either Spanish or Quechua.

The objective is to raise awareness about responsible mining in the country, to stimulate interest in this productive activity, and to encourage research and creativity among students.

It is important to mention that the contest is promoted by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 37, with the support of the Professional School of Mining Engineering of the Catholic University of Santa María de Arequipa (UCSM).
