This coming Tuesday, May 3, will take place the first workday of the conference program Rumbo a PERUMIN – Consensus for the progress of central Peru, organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and PERUMIN 35.

This edition will focus on the mining regions of the central area of the country, mainly Pasco, Junín and Lima provinces.

The President of Rumbo a PERUMIN, Eng. Miguel Cardozo and the regional governing of Pasco, Pedro Ubaldo Polinar, will be in charge of inaugurating the event.

This will be followed by the block “Impact and potential of mining in central Peru” with keynote presentations by renowned experts.

These will include a presentation by the Director of the Center for Competitiveness and Development (CCD) Rudy Laguna; former Minister of Energy and Mines, Jorge Merino; the Chairman of the Board of Centauro Exploraciones, Ángel Álvarez; and the independent Director of Candente Copper Corp., Luis Miguel Incháustegui.

Furthermore, there will be a discussion panel for the analysis and debate of the information presented, with the participation of the President of the Congress Mining Committee, Carlos Enrique Alva; the Mining and Energy Resources Director of Ingemmet, Jorge Acosta; the Head of the School of Mining Engineering of the UNCP, Gilmar León; and the Vice President of Operations of Volcan, Aldo De la Cruz.

To close this first workday, the President of PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention, Claudia Cooper, will present her commentaries and conclusions.
