• The invitation to present technical Works, an initiative led by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) is open until March 31.

The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) is currently receiving the application of technical and research work papers that will be evaluated and selected by a committee to approve their presentation in the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum (TIS Forum) that will take place during PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention.

According to the contest conditions posted in the website of the IIMP, there are eight categories for the participants to apply to: Geology and Explorations; Mining Operations; Mineral Processes; Environmental Management; Social Management; Mining Research and Technology; Mining Economics and Legal and Tax.

The deadline for the reception of these works is March 31. Every application must submit a summary of a technical work that offers a technological and scientific contribution, the details of the author and a maximum of 3 co-authors. These proposals must be submitted to the email address: tecnologia@iimp.org.pe.

“The TIS Forum is the technical analysis and debate space of PERUMIN and for this edition we expect to receive more than 150 applications from both national and foreign researchers that contribute to the promotion of knowledge about mining and to the development of best practices in the industry”, explained Roberto Maldonado, President of the TIS Forum.

It is worth mentioning that the authors of the selected works will enter an induction process led by the IIMP for the preparation of effective presentations. Furthermore, eight works will be selected for the final round (one per category) from which the winner of the National Mining Award will be chosen. It is the maximum recognition that the national mining industry offers to the promotion of mining research and knowledge.

It should be noted that the TIS Forum will be held within the framework of PERUMIN 35th Mining Convention from the 26th to the 30th of September, at the Cerro Juli Convention Center of Arequipa. It will have four simultaneous exhibition halls that may be visited by professionals and technicians involved in the mining activity.
