  • The authors of the best proposals will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum (TIS Forum) that will take place within the framework of the Mining Convention.

Lima, December 1. – The Organizing Committee of PERUMIN 35, event organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) launched its invitation to present technical works and studies to participate in the competition for the 2022 National Mining Award, the highest recognition that the Peruvian mining industry awards to researchers, professionals and academia regarding this productive activity and related industries.

The competition includes eight categories. The authors of the best proposals will have the opportunity to present their work at the Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Forum (TIS Forum): the main meeting space for mining professionals and technicians that will take place within the framework of the Mining Convention in September 2022.

Following the presentations, eight winners will be chosen (one per each category) who will receive the award in the main hall of PERUMIN 35 in recognition for their contribution to knowledge in the mining industry of Peru. And thereafter, the winner of the 2022 National Mining Award will be selected.

“PERUMIN, besides being a space for dialogue and debate about mining, is a meeting for the dissemination of knowledge about the industry for both, technicians and professionals of this sector and for the public opinion as a whole. We invite the academic community, researchers and professionals of this sector to participate, since with their work they contribute to the development of our productive activity”, added Roberto Maldonado, President of the TIS Forum of PERUMIN 35.

The categories included by the National Mining Award are: Geology and Explorations, Mining Operations, Processing of Minerals, Environmental Management, Social Management, Mining Research and Technology, Mining Economics and Legal and Tax. The bases for the contest are already available at the website of the IIMP, where the participants will submit their summaries until February 25.
