LIMA, SEPTEMBER 20 2021 Heading to PERUMIN will analyze Peruvian and world mining in 6 blocks

The central event of Heading to PERUMIN - Bicentennial Edition "Competitive and sustainable proposals for the development of Peru" will take place from Monday, September 20 to Friday, September 24.

The Heading to PERUMIN conferences will be freely accessible to the general public through its official website and through the PERUMIN and IIMP social networks.

The main objective of the first virtual competition of international scope is to present proposals to promote the development of mining and strengthen its impact on the welfare of the population. 

The conference blocks

In this sense, the Organizing Committee of Heading to PERUMIN has organized the conferences in six blocks: Consensus for Sustainable Development; Peruvian Mining in the Medium and Long Term; Competitive tax policy; Competitiveness and Sustainability; Long-Term Mining Policy; and Mining and development.

Each of the blocks will include the participation of prominent professionals and specialists from the academic field; and representatives from international organizations such as the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); among others.

Likewise, leaders and representatives of the main mining companies in Peru and the world, such as AngloAmerican, BHP, Freeport, MMG, Southern Copper and Newmont will participate and share their global success stories in sustainability and competitiveness in mining.

The central event of Heading to PERUMIN will be the setting for a first public meeting between representatives of the mining industry and government authorities. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Iván Merino; the president of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Julio Velarde; and the Ombudsman, Walter Gutiérrez have already confirmed their participation.

About Heading to PERUMIN

Heading to PERUMIN is an initiative of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) and the Executive Committee of PERUMIN 35; it is also the prelude to the 35th edition of the traditional Mining Convention, which will take place in 2022.
