, APRIL 26 2021 Minem, Minam and Produce will participate in the event "Southern Mining Corridor: Challenges for the Development of the Regions"

This year, as part of Heading to PERUMIN - Bicentennial Edition, decentralized virtual conferences have been scheduled in regions with a strong mining presence. Thus, the first of them will be held online from April 27 to 29 and will feature presentations by the main authorities.

According to the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), the heads of the Ministry of the Environment (Minam), Gabriel Quijandría, and the Ministry of Production (Produce), José Luis Chicoma, together with the mayor of Arequipa, Omar Candia Aguilar, and the president of Rumbo a PERUMIN, Dr. Miguel Cardozo, will be present at the opening ceremony of the event, which will take place on Tuesday, April 27 at 6 pm.

For his part, the Minister of Energy and Mines (Minem), Jaime Gálvez, will participate on Thursday, April 29 and will be in charge of closing the event "Southern Mining Corridor: Challenges for the Development of the Regions" together with the president of PERUMIN 35 Mining Convention, Claudia Cooper.

The conference: "Southern Mining Corridor: Challenges for the Development of the Regions", the IIMP and Heading to PERUMIN seek to bring together communities, companies, authorities and academia to debate and reach consensus on the current role of mining in the scenario of economic and social crisis that we have been facing due to the pandemic and for the sustainable development of Peru with a long-term vision.
